producers, consumers & decomposers: Food Chain & Ecosystem

In this lesson we discuss habitats but focus on the energy cycle. Students see real and model skulls to learn how scientists can tell what type of consumer an animal is by its teeth or beak. We look at scat to learn one of the ways scientists determine the animals in an ecosystem. They see examples of decomposers and get up close and personal with my favorite decomposer: worms!
