Students look at a variety of minerals, discuss how rocks are made of minerals and that minerals can be in crystal form. They sort rocks and do some simple tests on them, model the rock cycle, look at real fossils, and see the different ways fossils were formed. Students simulate weathering to see how a component of soil is formed.
